Working as a cook in food services
At Seure, the workplaces for cooks are often central and preparation kitchens that deliver lunch foods and ingredients to other locations.
Food is prepared in large quantities according to the production instructions, including a wide range of special diets.
In smaller units – the kitchens of schools and day-care centres – the duties include the preparation of special meals as well as breakfast, salads, side dishes and snacks. The duties may also include baking, placing orders, receiving and storing food, dishwashing, kitchen and dining room cleaning and customer service. Work tasks vary from site to site.
